EAAACA Bids Farewell to Outgoing General Secretary Ms Munira Ali.
During the 16th EAAACA Annual General Meeting held on 24th April, 2026, the Association approved Ms. Lilian W. Kafiti as the new General Secretary to replace Ms Munira Ali who.
In her farewell remarks, the outgoing General Secretary reflected on the progress made by the Association in advancing cooperation among anti-corruption institutions across Eastern Africa. She noted that during her tenure, the Secretariat worked closely with member institutions and partners to promote information sharing, coordinate regional activities, and support capacity-building initiatives aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of anti-corruption agencies.
She emphasized that EAAACA has continued to serve as a vital platform for collaboration, enabling member institutions to collectively address corruption challenges that increasingly transcend national boundaries. Through joint engagements, technical support, and coordinated initiatives, the Association has strengthened its role in promoting integrity, transparency, and accountability across the region.
Ms. Munira extended sincere appreciation to the President of EAAACA, the Executive Committee, member institutions, and development partners for their continued support and cooperation with the Secretariat throughout her tenure.

She noted that the achievements realized during this period were the result of collective commitment and teamwork among all members of the Association.
As she officially handed over the responsibilities of the Secretariat to her successor Ms. Lilian, she expressed confidence that the new leadership would continue to advance the Association’s mission and further strengthen regional efforts to combat corruption.

Ms. Munira committed to supporting the work of the Eastern African Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities and the broader regional efforts to promote integrity, transparency, and accountability.
