On 17 December 2025, the Acting General Secretary of EAAACA, Ms. Munira Ali, participated in a special event titled “Corruption Risk Mitigation Approaches for Sustainable Development”, held on the margins of the 11th Session of the Conference of the States Parties (CoSP) to the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC).

The event focused on practical approaches to identifying, assessing, and mitigating corruption risks, drawing on real-world experiences from diverse institutional and sectoral contexts. Discussions highlighted how corruption risk management tools have enhanced transparency, strengthened institutional performance, and built public trust, including in resource-constrained environments.

The session featured contributions from senior government leaders, heads of anti-corruption institutions, and experts from UNODC, providing a valuable platform for experience-sharing and regional perspectives on strengthening integrity systems.

During her presentation, the Acting General Secretary highlighted key achievements realized through the collaboration between EAAACA and the UNODC East Africa Platform, underscoring the importance of sustained partnerships in advancing effective corruption prevention and risk mitigation initiatives across the region.
